One of the worst feelings in the world is turning on the computer and realizing that nothings working. Or, maybe it was opening that email from someone not on the contact list and there goes the hard-drive and everything on it. No matter how it happens everyone who’s accidentally downloaded or opened a virus knows that it’s not fun and can erase a lot of important work and memories.
Good thing there are a few simply ways to avoid having something like this happen. These tricks usually don’t cost a lot of money, unless you want them to, and are a great way to computer the family or even a work computer from being a victim of a nasty computer virus.
Three Tips To Stopping Viruses
1. Avoid Suspect Websites and Email- If a website looks suspicious or the spelling is off, it can sometimes mean that it is a virus and the best idea is to get out of it. Another way that people will often get computer viruses is from emails. If the email comes from an unknown address or if it contains documents to be downloaded then those emails should be discarded and trashed. Opening them can delivers viruses.
2. Anti-Virus Programs- Anti-virus programs used to have to be bought in the store and downloaded into the computer, but with today’s technology these same programs can be downloaded at little, to no price, fairly easily. They will protect the computer by scanning any emails or internet sites for viruses.
3. Be Aware- Software providers send out emails, alerts on websites, and notifications that viruses or certain websites, with certain content should be avoided. Reading and taking these alerts seriously is a great way to stay away from viruses.
Viruses can be nasty and take a toll on the wallet and conscious, but as long a few precautions are taken they should be taken care of.
